Detroit Pistons forward/center Justin Patton had successful surgery to repair a fractured right pinky finger, the organization announced Wednesday evening.
It isn’t clear when Patton, who the Pistons signed in June, suffered the injury. Patton was among the 15 players participating in the Pistons’ group workouts, phase two of which began Monday.

Coach Dwane Casey said last week he was looking forward to watching Patton in workouts. He spent significant time last season with the Oklahoma City Blue, a G League team while general manager Troy Weaver was an assistant there. Patton was Weaver’s first signing after he was hired in June.
The Pistons also announced that Tony Snell returned home from group workouts because of personal reasons and Jordan McRae will not participate in the second phase of the workouts after taking part in the first.
