WINDSOR: Pistons coach Dwane Casey’s contract extension must feel like sweet justice
Game notes: It’s the second-to-last game of the season for both teams. Denver, fourth in the West, is on a back-to-back, having won 114-103 at Minnesota on Thursday night. The Pistons can clinch the NBA’s second-worst record and a guaranteed top-6 draft pick with losses to Denver and Miami on Sunday. But a top pick doesn’t guarantee success, writes Omari Sankofa II. … The Pistons are down at least eight players, including Isaiah Stewart, Frank Jackson, Jerami Grant and Mason Plumlee. … The Nuggets are also missing several regulars, including Aaron Gordon, Will Barton and Jamal Murray (out for the season), but Nikola Jokic, the presumptive NBA MVP, is expected to play. He’s averaging 26.5 points, 10.9 rebounds and 8.4 assists this season.
WINDSOR: Pistons need some luck; here’s hoping it’s in the NBA draft, instead of lottery
