Trade candidates include Philadelphia’s Ben Simmons, Sacramento’s Buddy Hield and perhaps Portland’s Damian Lillard.
New York, San Antonio, Oklahoma City are the teams to watch; all three have room to sign a maximum contract player. The Detroit Pistons are expected to have around $12.2 million in space after trading Mason Plumlee and waiving Cory Joseph. They can get to $16.3 million by declining Rodney McGruder’s $5 million deal.
