Coming off one of their best games in weeks, the Detroit Pistons are primed for a reality check against the Portland Trail Blazers. With the No. 10 scoring defense in the NBA, the Pistons continue to be this season’s feisty group that can beat anyone… and lose to anyone. Portland and its backcourt triplets of Damian Lillard, CJ McCollum and Norman Powell boast the No. 8 scoring offense in the league. We’ll see how legit that Detroit defense is tonight.
Oddly, both teams are coming off wins over the Toronto Raptors as well.
Here’s an interesting fact: Lillard, who seems to torch all who come in his path, has actually struggled a bit against the Pistons in his career. Outside of his basically-buzzer-beating jumper back in 2013, there hasn’t been much to see when he faces Detroit: 22.6 points on 41% shooting. It doesn’t mean anything now, but it caught my eye.
Please don’t @ me when he scored 45 tonight.
