Beginning next season, Detroit Pistons fans will have a new way to get close to the action happening on the count.

On Monday, the Pistons unveiled their new CURE Insurance Courtside Club — an open-air bar and lounge that will be stationed behind the visitor’s baseline at Little Caesars Arena. The club will feature a full Grey Goose bar, food, seating and mounted TVs on the walls, and will be the first of its kind in the NBA, according to the Pistons.

The club will be a “value-added amenity” for all courtside seat holders, the team said, and host networking and brand partner events.

“The CURE Insurance Courtside Club is a unique opportunity to reshape and enhance the fan experience,” Pistons senior vice president of corporate partnerships & engagement Brenden Mallette said in a statement. “As our fans return to Little Caesars Arena this fall in full force for the first time in nearly 18 months, the club is one of many new amenities that will welcome them back to Detroit Basketball.”

The new club will make its debut during the Pistons’ first home preseason game in 2021-22.

The Pistons own the No. 1 pick in the 2021 NBA draft on July 29, and have seen a large increase in fan interest since winning the draft lottery June 22.

They’re coming off a 20-52 season, their worst since 1993-94, but have plenty of hope for the future with consensus top pick Cade Cunningham within their grasp, and multiple exciting young players already on the roster.
