NBA Draft Day 2 Open Thread: Pistons on the clock earlier than expected

Detroit Bad Boys

The Detroit Pistons traded with the Minnesota Timberwovles to move up from the 53rd to the 37th pick in the NBA Draft. That means the team will likely get a player with a legitimate shot to make a roster and not just someone to stash overseas.

The cost was the contract of Wendell Moore who has $2.5 million on his final guaranteed deal. If he makes the team great, if he doesn’t, that’s fine too.

Detroit was not the only team to wheel and deal. The Kings traded a pair of young players to cut salary in Davion Mitchell and Sasha Vezenkov, and the Hawks dealt away 2022 first-rounder AJ Griffin in a salary dump.

Let’s chat all about it here in this first-ever Day 2 of the NBA Draft happening in the afternoon for some reason, and at 4 p.m. ET on ESPN to be precise.
