Who will be this game’s Edmond Sumner? Remember him? He’s the guy for the Pacers who made all five of his attempts in the fourth quarter including three 3-points on his way to 18 points and an L for the Detroit Pistons. Due to injuries, Sumner is playing a lot more, and he’s probably excited
It’s hard to make sense of the Indiana Pacers this season. They’ll win 7 of 10 and then go on a four-game losing skid. Their last three losses — Clippers, Jazz, Hawks. Last three wins — Thunder, Rockets, Grizzlies. Seems like they are a good bad team or a mediocre team that can’t do much
Turns out, no matter how hard you try, you can’t lose them all. Are the Detroit Pistons trying to do that? No, not at all. They do appear to have a plan of attack down the stretch as they try to balance developing a solid core of young players while trying to put themselves in
The Detroit Pistons’ roster largely falls into two groups. Eight players on the team have fewer than three full years of experience and are 22 years old or younger. They’re in show-and-prove mode. Then there are the veterans — players such as Jerami Grant, who stepped into a leading role in the seventh season of
In three games this week, it’s almost like Dwane Casey has coached two different teams. The Pistons and their coach lost the final two, wrapping up a Texas two-step Thursday with a 106-91 loss to the San Antonio Spurs. A bevy of veterans sat out the second game in as many nights, and though Josh

Well, that was a Detroit Pistons basketball game, wasn’t it? It wasn’t one of those fun, “wow, the kids look great,” kind of games. It wasn’t one of those, “wow, the veterans are gonna win another game for no reason,” either. No, it was the worst of both worlds. Jerami Grant, Mason Plumlee and Cory

Cory Joseph missed Monday’s game due to a bout with bronchitis. One probably wouldn’t have guessed that, judging by his performance Wednesday against the Dallas Mavericks.
